Singles Ladder

Singles Ladder is held every Sunday from 4 – 6pm.

During this session, you will have the opportunity to play approximately six to seven singles games against players of similar level in a round robin format. It’s a great way to meet and challenge other players in a competitive format!

To register for the Singles Ladder, visit the ladder registration page.

Select the Singles Ladder, log in to your account, select the date you want to register for, and then click the “Register” button.

Singles Ladder registration will open sometime between 3pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday for the following weekend’s ladder. Registration closes at 9am on the day before (Saturday) the ladder. The ladder is held every week unless otherwise noted.

The maximum capacity for the Singles Ladder is 21 players for each session. Please register early each week to reserve your spot! SBC cannot guarantee participation in the ladder to players who registered late or showed up without registration.

New to the ladder? Follow the scenario that applies to you.

  • I’ve never participated in any SBC ladders:
      • Click on “New to League” and complete Step 1 (joining a specific ladder program) and Step 2 (creating an SBC ladder account)
  • I’ve previously participated in an SBC ladder, but am new to the Singles Ladder:
      • Click on the “New to League” and complete only Step 1, making sure you enter the same email address you used previously

Once you have completed either set of steps above to create your account, you can now register for the Singles Ladder.

Ladder Rules and Policies

Players are placed into brackets A, B, C and D depending on their average score from the last four sessions they have participated in. Players who are new to the ladder will get an initial score based on their own perceived level combined with the organizer’s evaluation. The Singles Ladder uses the same scoring system and structure as the Fixed-Partner Ladder, for which you can see the detailed breakdown in this document.

Ladder participation is free, but all players are expected to come prepared to each session with at least one new shuttlecock to contribute.

If for any reason you are unable to make the ladder session, please unregister yourself as soon as possible on the ladder registration page to open the spot for others. If the ladder registration session has closed and locked, please still inform SBC by sending an email to ladder@seattlebadminton.com. Notification must be received four hours before the ladder event start time.

A no-show penalty will be applied to players who are absent without unregistering or notifying SBC. A no-show penalty of 5 points will be applied to the player’s final score for four weeks. In the event of repeated no-shows, the player might be temporarily banned from participating in the Singles Ladder.

Please commit to staying the whole duration and playing the entirety of the session’s matches. Players who do not complete all of their scheduled games without prior approval are considered a no-show.
