Xuehua Tang

Coach Tang is a world-renowned Chinese badminton coach. After finishing his career as a competitive badminton athlete in 1978, Coach Tang joined the China Jiangsu Provincial Badminton Team as Team Coach. He trained numerous world champions including Zhao Jianhua and Yang Yang. He also trained Ge Fei and her doubles partner Gu Jun, who won Women’s Doubles Gold medals in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Later on, Coach Tang was invited to coach the China National Badminton Team, specializing in Women’s Singles. Across 22 years, he trained the world’s top badminton players and repeatedly won numerous of the badminton world’s most prestigious titles. He coached legendary players such as as Gong Zhixhao, Ye Zhaoying, Zhang Ning, Xie Xingfang, Zhou Mi, Li Xuerui, Wang Yihan, and many more. He led the Chinese team to four Olympic Games and won four consecutive gold medals; Gong Zhixhao in Sydney 2000, Zhang Ning in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, and Li Xuerui in London 2012. For his contributions to the outstanding success of the Chinese badminton team, he was awarded eighteen highest Medals of Honor for Sports by the Chinese Government.
